Mom's Braunschweiger Spread
( From the 1940s )
1 lb. braunschweiger
3 T. mayonnaise or salad dressing
3 T. grated onion
1 hard-boiled egg; chopped fine
1 tsp. prepared mustard
1/4 tsp salt
Dash of black pepper

Combine all inredients, mix well. Shape into a ball. Wrap in plastic wrap and chill for 2-3 hours. Before serving, allow to stand at room temperature for 15 minutes to return to spreading consistency. Serve with a variety of crackers or little toasts.
